To all who asked why I don't use an 'o' in the name of the Lord,
I don't spell out the name of G-d out of respect. (Beneath all those jokes, lies a deeply spiritual person.) Remember the 10 Commandments reguarding G-d's name? ;) Born-again Christians do the same thing.
The reasoning behind it is as following: The name of G-d is sacred. Putting a piece of paper with the name of G-d spelled out in the garbage (or any other disposal unit) would desecrate the name. To avoid such a calamity, the 'o' is taken out.
So, you see, I don't do it because I think that G-d is a dirty word, or I am ashamed of using it. Quite the opposite is true. When I want to lessen the impact of a foul language word, I use asterics (*) or a random sequence of symbols, but never a dash.
This is my opinion. It's something I chose to do. I do not in any way impose my practices on anyone. Last time I checked, it was still a free country,
Thank you for listening.
